Public education in Florida continues to be in jeopardy with the re-election of Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican super-majority in the Florida House and Senate, and an influx of DeSantis-endorsed school board members.

Democratic Public Education Caucus of Florida President Scott Hottenstein and Vice President Stephanie Vanos will speak at our Dec. 3 Club membership meeting about lessons learned from the 2022 school board elections and plans to be better prepared for 2024.

A new political committee, Help Out Public Education, has been formed to  recruit and develop candidates, educate voters about the timing and importance of school board races, target pro-public education No Party Affiliation voters, and provide additional resources to targeted small counties. Please join us to find out how we can all work together to save Florida’s public schools.
